Our office is looking for a fun, energetic back-office team member. Patient care and experience are very important to our office. We value an individual who exhibits the ability to communicate, multi-tasks and works well with others. We have three office locations and three doctors. Teamwork and dependability are crucial for this position. We have a four-day weekend every other week. Come join our fun, fast paced orthodontic office!
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assist with all phases of orthodontic treatment as directed by the Orthodontist and/or treatment plan.
· Prepare teeth for the placement of brackets and bands.
· Prepare and secure orthodontic wires.
· Ability to assist in laser procedures with Orthodontist.
· Educate patients on oral hygiene and appliance care.
· Help motivate patients to achieve the very best results from orthodontic treatment.
· Serve as key communication link between the patient and the Orthodontist.
· Make patients feel comfortable, at ease and welcomed to our practice by engaging the patient and/or parent in conversation.
· Assists Orthodontist in any given procedure.
· Sterilize, set up and prepare orthodontic equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established regulations and guidelines.
· Maintain clean and neat work areas. Restock supplies as needed.
· Answer patient/parent questions if appropriate or refer them to the Orthodontist or another staff member who can assist them.
· Cleans clinic patient chairs and moves around clinic with sense of urgency.
· Back up for sterilization.
· Performs side tasks daily and/or monthly as assigned by Clinic Coordinator.
· Attend all staff meetings and daily huddles.
· Abide by established office policies and procedures.
· Representing the practice in a positive way inside and outside of the office.
· Required to travel between office locations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited orthodontic assisting program preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as an orthodontic assistant or dental assistant, preferably with orthodontic focus
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, appliances, and terminology
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and the orthodontic team
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
