RESEARCHER TECHNICIAN

As a Researcher Technician, this entry-level position will play a pivotal role in supporting team operations within a dynamic research environment. Under the guidance of managers, team leads, or senior technicians, you will conduct routine tests/measures and assist in various research endeavors. Your responsibilities will include aiding investigators or senior researchers in conducting studies and procedures encompassing tasks such as data collection, solution preparation, and equipment setup and maintenance. Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research collaborator contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Assists investigators or senior researchers in conducting research studies/protocol implementation.
Performs routine tests and measures following established protocols and procedures.
Collaborates with supervisors, managers, or senior technicians to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
Participate in data collection activities and maintain detailed records of experimental procedures and results.
May prepare solutions, reagents, and other materials required for laboratory-based experiments.
May set up and maintain equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration.
Adheres to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized research environment.
Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research collaborator contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Mouse colony maintenance, genotyping, maintaining laboratory protocols, ordering supplies, and general laboratory organization skills.
Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals, runs assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc.
Collects, enters and summarizes mouse colony data.
Monitors results and detects and reports unusual outcomes to supervising personnel.
Assist in the maintenance and trouble shooting of lab equipment and supplies. Works with minimal supervision for defined tasks and is expected to perform some assignments independently.
Mouse colony work - weaning, setting up breeders, biopsies
Lab maintenance tasks - solution prep, washing dishes, cleaning
Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred
HS + 4 years of experience
or B.S.,AD +2 years of experience preferred in Biology, Psychology, or Neuroscience.
Must have at least one year of research experience with laboratory mice.
Hourly Range: $15.00 -$24.40
Education
High School or GED required.
Previous research experience or coursework preferred.
