Grizzly Industrial is looking for a detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and dependable Freight Specialist to support our busy Springfield distribution center. If you enjoy hands‑on work, take pride in accuracy, and thrive in a fast‑paced warehouse environment, this role puts you right at the heart of our logistics operation. This position also functions as a primary forklift driver/operator, responsible for safely moving, loading, and unloading materials throughout the facility.
What You’ll Do
Freight Receiving
- Unload inbound containers and trucks (forklift or by hand)
- Inspect, count, and verify products
- Complete receiving documentation accurately
Shipping Operations
- Pick and pack customer orders
- Verify shipment accuracy and process orders in multiple software systems
- Build/repair crates, wrap and band pallets
- Load outbound trucks and complete Bills of Lading
- Perform cycle counts and inventory checks
Customer Service
- Assist showroom customers with order verification
- Load purchased items into customer vehicles
Stocking & Warehouse Support
- Stock products into racking and update RF inventory
- Wrap pallets and maintain warehouse organization
- Support special projects and collaborate with other departments
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of safe forklift experience (required)
- Basic computer skills for shipping and inventory entry
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift 70 lbs. unassisted and perform physical warehouse tasks
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and customer service mindset
- Dependable team player who stays calm under pressure and adapts quickly
Work Environment
- Fast‑paced, accuracy‑driven warehouse
- Mix of repetitive tasks and shifting priorities
- Approximately 75% physical work (standing, walking, lifting, forklift operation)
- Approximately 25% computer work, paperwork, and meetings
