 Shift Hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Babbitting Service, Inc (BSI) is a leader in the manufacture, design and repair of Hydrodynamic Fluid Film Bearings (Babbitt Bearings) and related parts since 1961. BSI services OEM's, aftermarket, and end users across the globe. We are seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant to support the day-to-day business functions for the team in the South Elgin headquarters and includes the following:

  • Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.
  • Performs time sensitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Answers the front door so visitors are attended to promptly, courteously, and accurately.
  • Coordinates internal and external meetings which may involve scheduling meeting times and ensuring that various meeting amenities are available.
  • Manage the appointments and schedules of applicable staff.
  • Uses office equipment such as photocopiers, and printers.
  • Distributes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail. Occasionally will require going to post office
  • Files miscellaneous documents
  • Assists in maintaining and purchasing of some production supplies.
  • Transcribes, types, and formats a variety of material (e.g., correspondence, invoices, contracts, meeting minutes, reports, and presentations).
  • Performs some light tasks in the manufacturing plant, such as organizing job bins with small components.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Capable of working around interruptions throughout the day.
  • Other office or company related duties as assigned.

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum: 3-4 recent years working knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Proficient: in Excel
  • Physically: able to lift minimum 25 lbs
  • Prolong: sitting at desk or office space area
  • Capacity: to maintain confidentiality
$20.00 to $23.00 per hour
