Job Description
About Finch
We believe every American household deserves access to counsel in life’s biggest moments. At Finch, we’re building the infrastructure to make justice radically more accessible. Our modern approach to consumer law automates the admin work and puts clients first, starting with personal injury.
In just over a year, we've grown 10x, raised a $20M Series A, and become the pre-litigation partner of choice for top personal injury firms across the country. We believe the best outcomes happen when expert operators and purpose-built AI work together – which is why we handle every step of pre-lit, from intake and claim opening to medical records, lien management, and demands, with humans leading every case.
We’re backed by Sequoia, Redpoint, and the founders & CEOs of generational companies like DoorDash, Ironclad, and Digits. We’re rebuilding how the law serves everyday Americans from first principles, and we’re hiring exceptional operators to help us scale it nationwide.
This Role: Case Manager, Liability, Evidence & Claims
We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Specialist to support case management from intake through settlement preparation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience gathering and organizing liability evidence, conducting fault analysis, and managing ongoing communication with insurance carriers and government agencies.
This role also requires experience handling the full evidence and records collection process, including drafting and submitting FOIA and public records requests, obtaining police reports and supplemental narratives, securing dash cam/body cam footage and 911 audio, tracking outstanding records across jurisdictions, and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the lifecycle of the claim.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and energized by working in a fast-paced startup environment where processes are evolving and ownership is expected.
What You'll Do:
Open insurance claims with all relevant carriers (liability, UM/UIM, med pay), send letters of representation, obtain claim numbers and adjuster assignments, and manage ongoing carrier communication including acknowledgment follow-up
Draft and submit FOIA and public records requests to police departments, state agencies, and municipal offices; track request status, escalate non-responsive agencies, and ensure timely receipt of police reports, supplemental narratives, dash/body cam footage, and 911 recordings
Request and track medical records, witness statements, scene photographs, and other essential evidence; implement systematic follow-up protocols to ensure timely receipt and flag non-responsive parties for escalation
Conduct liability analysis from police reports, witness statements, and scene evidence; assess fault allocation, comparative negligence exposure, and evidentiary gaps; prepare comprehensive case packages for lead paralegals to draft settlement demands
Analyze workflow inefficiencies in evidence collection and case setup processes, identify automation opportunities, and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time from intake to demand-ready status
You Might Be a Fit if You:
Have experience in personal injury pre-litigation previously
Have experience drafting and managing FOIA / public records requests and obtaining police reports across multiple jurisdictions
Have experience opening claims, creating all coverage-related documentation, and managing relationships with insurance providers
Have experience conducting liability analysis and organizing evidence (police reports, photos, video, witness statements) into case-ready packages
Attention to detail and excitement for a fast-paced startup environment
Compensation
$60,000 – $85,000 annual salary + equity
Additional benefits include:
100% coverage for health, dental, and vision
401(k) retirement plan
In-office snacks, drinks, and daily team lunch and dinners
Flexible PTO (we trust you to take the time you need)
