Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Circulator to join our Surgery Department. In this role, you will serve as a critical member of the surgical team, ensuring patient safety, managing the operating room environment, and advocating for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The RN Circulator plays a vital role in collaborating with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient surgeries.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient needs before, during, and after surgery.
- Prepare the operating room with appropriate instruments and equipment.
- Ensure a sterile environment is maintained, upholding all safety and infection control standards.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide intraoperative support.
- Act as the patient’s advocate throughout the surgical process.
- Coordinate communication between the surgical team and other departments.
- Accurately document patient care and surgical procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- Licensure: Current Texas RN license required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in surgical services or the operating room is required.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- On Call: This position requires staff to remain within a 20 minute radius of Uvalde Memorial Hospital when scheduled On-Call.
