About Interventional Services The interventional service at VHH provide elective and emergent coronary and structural care to the people of Victoria. The service performs more than 4500 diagnostic angiograms, 1800 percutaneous coronary interventions and provides care to more than 20% of STEMI patients in the state. The service also supports a rapid assessment chest pain clinic and complex, high-risk but indicated procedure clinic. About the role This excellent training program will equip fellows in the art and science of interventional cardiology including percutaneous coronary intervention, acute coronary syndrome management, intracoronary imaging and coronary physiology. Our program is particularly geared to those looking towards an academic and research career in interventional cardiology as the successful candidate will have considerable involvement in interventional clinical trials and investigator lead research. Academic research is an integral component of our interventional program. All interventional fellows are expected to actively undertake research projects and to present at local and international meetings. The role includes in-hours cardiac catheterisation laboratory cover, interventional ambulatory clinic attendance and after-hours on-call STEMI coverage. About You : To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: Outline skills / experience / attitude Completed advanced training in cardiology with a sound knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, coronary anatomy and cardiovascular disease management Prior experience with coronary angiography including image acquisition as primary operator in >100cases, including image interpretation and reporting A collegial work manner which allows you to work in varying roles within a multidisciplinary team Mandatory requirements of the role: Primary medical degree (MBBS) or equivalent All candidates will require Australian working rights Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Employee Working with Children's Check Current Drivers Licence Referee Request : As part of your application, please complete the referee request form at least twice (preferably three times) to ensure we receive a minimum of two references.
