We are looking for a Gene Therapy Molecular Biology Scientist who is curious, detail‑oriented, and collaborative to join us in our Analytical Development Sciences team, based in Braine‑l’Alleud, Belgium.
About the role
You will contribute to the development of gene therapy products by designing and delivering molecular biology analytical methods that support product development from early stages through clinical readiness. Working in a regulated laboratory environment, you will help ensure data quality, regulatory compliance, and robust scientific outcomes that ultimately support patients living with severe diseases.
Who you’ll work with
You will be working in a multidisciplinary team of analytical scientists, molecular biologists, and technical experts. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across process development, characterization, vector biology, and external partners, contributing to a shared goal of scientific excellence and patient‑focused innovation.
What you’ll do
- Develop and execute molecular biology analytical methods supporting release and stability testing of gene therapy products
- Contribute to analytical method development and validation in a regulated laboratory environment
- Lead or contribute to the deployment of Next generation Sequencing strategy in the analytical department
- Transfer analytical methods to internal teams and external development partners
- Review, analyse, and interpret experimental data to support product development decisions
- Prepare high‑quality technical documentation in line with regulatory and data integrity standards
Interested?
For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
- Doctorate in molecular biology, or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years of experience in molecular biology analytical method development in a regulated (GxP) environment
- Sound understanding of analytical method validation principles
- Experience using dPCR and qPCR techniques, ELISA, Western blot, Gel Electrophoresis techniques; proven hands-on experience with NGS is also required
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within cross‑functional teams
