Job Title CDL Truck Driver

Summary

 

The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout the State of Colorado. CDL Divers report directly to the CDL Supervisor or the Warehouse Supervisor.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Operate safely and in compliance of all Company, Federal, State and Local laws pertaining to the operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of all Company, Federal, State and Local laws pertaining to the operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Transport goods as efficiently as possible and completes dispatched assignments as quickly and safely as possible.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of interior and exterior of truck.
  • Work well with supervisors and co-workers and is able to quickly and clearly communicate with others.
  • Maintain good rapport and working relationship with personnel from other departments, such as Warehouse, Store and Sourcing personnel.
  • Able to safely navigate large commercial truck or tractor-trailer combinations on-highway and in smaller areas, such as residential streets and parking lots.
  • Review and update any changes in industry standards and company policy.
  • Able to operate in various weather conditions, including snow and ice.
  • Able to safely and properly use tire chains.
  • Able to clearly fill out required forms, including Driver Vehicle Inspection forms and Driver Record of Duty Status forms.

 

Qualifications

 

Knowledge, Skill and Ability

 

  • Knowledge of the city street systems
  • Ability to read maps and effectively plan routes to complete dispatched assignments as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Ability to operate a large commercial truck or tractor trailer combination and possess a valid class A or B CDL and a good driving record.
  • Ability to adequately inspect or make minor repairs to trucks and / or trailers.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees, donors, vendors and customers.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and figure percentages to complete driver Record of Duty Status logs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Can fluently operate non-synchronized standard transmissions.
  • Must be able to effectively and efficiently back large commercial trucks or tractor trailer combinations in small areas.

 

Education and/or Experience Required

 

  • Experience working with a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to work with individuals possessing developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to operate internet connected cell-phone, including iPhones.
  • Ability to use good judgment.
  • Energy to take on fast-paced work.
  • Good listener.
  • Well-organized and self-directed.
  • Class A or B CDL and knowledge of DOT/FMCSA Regulations

 

Physical Demands

 

  • Must travel state-wide to complete dispatched assignments.
  • Close and distant vision is required and ability to focus.
  • Frequently work near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, stand and move.
  • Use upper body strength to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Use upper and lower body strength, and flexibility to install and remove tire chains weighing 50 pounds or more each in inclement weather conditions.

We are seeking a reliable Class A CDL Driver based out of Denver for a mix of regional and dedicated OTR routes. This position offers a great balance of consistent miles, local work, and guaranteed home time every weekend. You will operate new equipment delivering trailers to dedicated regional hubs.

Route Details

  • Dedicated Runs: Weekly routes from Denver to Albuquerque (NM), Grand Junction (CO), and San Antonio (TX).
  • Local Work: Occasional Denver Metro delivery and yard work.
  • Home Time: Guaranteed home every weekend.

Requirements & Qualifications

 

  • License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Age: Must be 21 or older (for company insurance compliance).
  • Clearinghouse: Must be registered in the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
  • Background check required; criminal history does not automatically disqualify
  • Screening: Must pass a pre-employment drug screening (UA) and submit to random drug/alcohol testing.
  • MVR: Must provide a current copy of your Motor Vehicle Record.

 

Insurance Disqualifiers (Strictly Enforced)

Your MVR must NOT contain any of the following to meet our insurance criteria:

  • 3 or more moving violations within the past 3 years.
  • 1 moving violation combined with 1 accident within the past 3 years.
  • Any history of DUI or Careless driving
