POSITION PURPOSE

Trinity Health Medical Groups oversees 15 regional medical groups across the country who collectively represent 4070 Physician FTE’s, over 7000 clinician FTEs, generating $2.8 Billion in Annual revenue, and caring for over 2.2 million patients who call our physicians and clinicians their primary care home. As a key part of Trinity Health’s strategic focus on the importance of community based services, this role is in a position to help shape the future of healthcare delivery at Trinity Health.

Provide leadership, oversight, consultation, and operational and performance excellence for the assigned functional area(s) across Trinity Health’s national footprint. Accountable for driving growth, long-term / sustainable strategies, implementation, direction, innovation and operational improvements, and driving conceptual or directional change. This role serves as a key leader in helping regional medical groups to achieve top decile performance as defined by the Trinity Health Medical Group stewardship and care delivery scorecards.

This position will be based in Livonia, Michigan. Relocation assistance provided. Position may be hybrid with min of 3 days in the office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in leadership behaviors, practices, and decisions. 

Serves as a key member of the Trinity Health Medical Group (THMG) executive team leading efforts to promote good stewardship, including provider productivity, care coordination, practice expense management, and aligned provider compensation models, as well as efforts to promote excellence in care delivery, including referral management and access, patient experience, and operational processes that result in high quality, timely, and efficient patient care.

Establishes strong relationships and communicates effectively with all constituents, including regional medical group leadership teams, and physicians and colleagues within regional medical groups.

Responsible for working closely with regional medical group leadership teams and Trinity Health Medical Group operations directors to manage resources effectively to meet quality, financial, strategic, and operational targets.

Participates actively in the ongoing development of the Trinity Health Medical Group stewardship and care delivery scorecards. Helps focus regional medical group leadership on the leading actions that are most likely to drive improvement on the Trinity Health Medical Group stewardship and care delivery scorecards.

Works closely with Regional Medical Group leadership and Trinity Health Medical Group operations directors to assure that referrals within the organization optimize patient care and service, and that the operational processes decrease wait times and strengthen existing referral mechanisms within the health care system.

Oversees and manages the selection, direction and ongoing development of the Trinity Health Medical Group (THMG) operations directors.

Collaborates and communicates effectively with Regional Medical group leadership teams and with Trinity Health Medical Group (THMG) team to help drive organizational goals.

Leads the Trinity Health Medical Group (THMG) Operations team in building effective support for and collaboration with the regional medical group leadership teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Health Administration, or related field required, a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.

The incumbent must have a minimum of ten (10) years of successful management experience and seven (7) or more years of successful executive leadership experience, including fiscal and physician management responsibilities.

Demonstrated experience and success leading in medical group management.

Demonstrated success in relationship building required in order to initiate and develop productive working partnerships with all levels of management/leadership and staff including influencing results, garnering support and tactfully managing complex relationships within and across a large organization in a shared or matrixed leadership environment.

Demonstrated customer service orientation, seeking to understand customer requirements and exercising judgment in meeting their expectations, particularly when there are differences of opinions on needs and services, unanticipated contingencies or a divergence of ideas/perspectives.

Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health.
