Reporting to the Strategic Mine Projects Superintendent, you will be part of the Strategic Mine Projects group and collaborate with other departments of the Nunavut Divisions. You will play a key role in developing Full potential evaluations of the Nunavut divisions, through scenario evaluations, cost optimization, and concept development. You will need to produce Life of Mine planning by considering the mine designs, production plans, forecasting and other mining engineering parameters and constraints. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
Support the life of mine, budget, and necessary economic analysis for Nunavut Mine Operations;
Support the divisions for semi-annual mining reserves and resource estimation (MRMR): Mine stope optimizer (MSO) set up, Datamine block model encoding, variance and sensitivity analysis.
Actively participate to Expansion projects studies;
Develop, prepare and design the Strategic Mining Plan and assess opportunities;
Develop tools, procedures, and systems to ensure robust strategic planning.
Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a Mining technology diploma,
A minimum of 7+ years of experience in Underground and/or Open Pit mining operations, that includes a minimum of 2+ years' experience in production and mine planning;
Must have good analytical skills, good organizational skills, a high learning capacity, and problem-solving abilities;
Project management skills are an asset;
Excellent knowledge of CAD software, with working knowledge of Deswik being an asset;
Experience in reserves and resource estimation would be an asset
Experience working in a multicultural environment;
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must obtain a passing mark on a SPEEXX English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, with the possibility of Remote working. The incumbent presence in AEM offices at Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec will be required occasionally.
The Strategic Mine Planner will be occasionally required to visit the mine site to establish synergies within the team and present some deliverables.
Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
