Job Description
About BetaNXT:
BetaNXT is a leading provider of frictionless wealth management infrastructure, real-time data solutions, and an enhanced advisor experience. We invest in platforms, products, and partnerships to accelerate growth for the ecosystem we serve. Our connective approach empowers our clients to deliver a comprehensive, end-to-end advisor and investor experience.
BetaNXT is a premier provider of technology, data, and operations as services to a rich client base of wealth managers, institutional wealth firms, and digital brokers. It is comprised of three industry-leading businesses which, combined, provide end-to-end solutions across the investment lifecycle.
Overview of the Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Network Readiness Engineer:
The Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Network Readiness Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and readiness of BetaNXT’s cloud network and perimeter infrastructure, with a primary focus on OCI-based environments and multi-cloud connectivity. This role acts as a technical gatekeeper for infrastructure changes, transitions, and ownership handoffs, ensuring risks, dependencies, and responsibilities are explicitly understood before execution.
The role partners closely with internal platform teams and external service providers to enable safe delivery, smooth transitions, and clear operational ownership across cloud services.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Network Readiness Engineer:
- Provide cloud and network readiness assessments for infrastructure changes, migrations, and connectivity transitions (e.g., Azure ↔ OCI), validating network design, routing, VPN connectivity, and firewall configurations prior to production deployment
- Identify and escalate risks based on past incidents, architectural complexity, and gaps in documentation, serving as a key escalation point for cloud networking and firewall-related issues
- Act as a customer-facing technical resource supporting onboarding, integrations, and external connectivity requirements
- Review and assess emergency and high-risk infrastructure changes, clearly communicating scope, dependencies, potential impact, and rollback considerations while partnering with governance bodies (e.g., ICAB) to support informed approvals
- Ensure change requests accurately capture blast radius, downstream impacts, and technical dependencies to enable safe execution
- Support infrastructure ownership transitions to third-party providers by validating readiness criteria, including network, security, access, and documentation requirements, and confirming closure of all prerequisites (e.g., whitelisting, access provisioning)
- Define, document, and refine infrastructure responsibilities across internal teams and vendors, identifying and addressing gaps in ownership (e.g., firewall management, VPN lifecycle, monitoring) to avoid operational blind spots
- Track critical infrastructure dependencies and deliverables (e.g., network documentation, certificates), proactively following up with stakeholders to ensure timely completion prior to production activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with cloud operations, identity and access management, security, platform teams, and external vendors to align on architecture, access models, and support structures
- Communicate technical concepts, risks, and requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Skills and Experience of the Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Network Readiness Engineer:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in cloud networking and security, with deep expertise in OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), VPNs, routing, firewall architectures, and multi-cloud connectivity (e.g., Azure ↔ OCI)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent field
- Experience working in regulated or high-availability production environments
- Strong understanding of network segmentation, routing design, firewall policy management (e.g., Fortigate), and identity/access dependencies (AD / Entra AD)
- Working knowledge of TLS/SSL certificate management concepts, including renewal processes and dependency considerations
- Proven ability to evaluate infrastructure changes for both operational and security risk in complex production environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical risks, readiness, and dependencies to diverse stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, evolving, or transitional environments, including infrastructure transformations or outsourcing initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to challenge assumptions constructively and advocate for secure, reliable infrastructure practices
- Experience collaborating with external customers, vendors, and service providers on connectivity, access, and support models
- Familiarity with formal change management and governance frameworks, including risk assessment and approval processes
- Background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles
- Experience supporting infrastructure transitions, operational handoffs, or third-party managed services models
- Exposure to RACI development, ownership modeling, and defining operational responsibilities across teams
