Overview of the Senior Manager, Software Engineering:
We are seeking a highly experienced Hands‑On Technical Manager to lead our engineering team both technically and organizationally. This role requires deep, hands‑on expertise across the full technology stack, combined with strong people leadership, delivery ownership, and technical strategy.
You will remain actively involved in system design, critical code paths, architectural decisions, and complex problem‑solving while also managing, mentoring, and growing a team of engineers and Tech Leads. You will serve as a key bridge between Engineering, Product, Design, and Leadership, ensuring scalable, secure, and high‑quality solutions are delivered consistently to production.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Software Engineering:
Technical Leadership (Hands On)
- Define and own system architecture and technical strategy across projects and platforms.
- Design, architect, and review complex full stack solutions using TypeScript (Angular), .NET, Node.js, and REST based microservices.
- Remain hands on by contributing to critical code paths, proofs of concept, architectural spikes, and complex refactoring efforts.
- Oversee and guide secure coding practices, performance optimization, scalability, and maintainability.
- Review and approve high impact design decisions, code changes, and release strategies.
- Ensure high engineering standards through best practices, automated testing, code reviews, and quality scans.
- Drive production readiness, reliability, and operational excellence across environments.
Delivery & Execution
- Own end to end delivery of technical initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on time and deployed successfully to live production environments.
- Work closely with Product and Design to translate business and end user needs into robust technical solutions.
- Balance short term delivery goals with long term architectural health.
Skills and Experience of the Senior Manager:
- 8+ years of professional, hands‑on software development and system design experience.
- Prior experience in a Technical Manager or Engineering Manager role with direct people management responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering
- Strong track record of leading complex projects to on‑time delivery in production environments.
- Extensive experience across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Deep knowledge of designing secure, scalable, extensible, and reusable systems aligned with architectural and security standards.
- Proven ability to balance hands‑on development with leadership and strategic responsibilities.
- Experience with Dot Net Core, GraphQL, and OpenSearch.
- Strong experience with fully automated testing, including Jasmine/Karma.
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell or similar tools.
- Experience driving engineering standards across multiple teams or services.
- Background in scaling teams or platforms in a high‑growth or enterprise environment.
- Good interpersonal and people management skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with senior leadership under tight deadlines.
