Group Director - Investment Counselor

Job Summary
This Group Director – Investment Counselor role is responsible for delivering comprehensive, goals-based financial planning for high-net-worth and ultra- high-net-worth clients. In this role, the Investment Counselor will be operating in a consultative role and partners closely with portfolio management, insurance, tax, and banking teams.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership
- Work with Private Banking team to develop and maintain comprehensive financial plans (insurance, retirement, estate, tax strategy, risk management, philanthropy)
- Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable guidance for clients
- Serve as investment planning resource for private banking teams
- Review and interpret investment strategy in coordination with portfolio managers (not product sales)
Product & Service Innovation
- Monitor and update plans based on life events, regulatory changes, and market conditions
- Support client acquisition and retention through planning expertise
- Contribute to planning standards, tools, and best practices across the division
Performance Monitoring
- Track and analyze business performance metrics, ensuring delivery of growth targets and identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure that proposed solutions fulfill clients' needs and objectives in the short, medium and long term through a holistic goals-based planning approach
Risk Management and Compliance
- Strictly adhere to all risk and control policies, regulatory guidelines and security measures
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
- Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent)
- Minimum experience required: 10+ Years
- Series 7, 66 licenses required for position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education level preferred: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) with a major in Finance or Business
- Fifteen plus years of work experience in Private Banking or Financial Services
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Proven sales success and strong business acumen
- Strong community presence with an established network
- Experience or demonstrated understanding of investments, wealth planning, credit and banking concepts
- Focuses on the client experience and works tirelessly on the client’s behalf
Job Competencies:
- Physical demands (ADA): No unusual physical exertion is involved.
- Proactive, takes initiative, and uses critical thinking to solve problems
- MBA, JD, CFA, or CFP preferred
- Dynamic and credible professional who communicates with clarity and has exceptional presentation skills
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and applies a disciplined and organized approach throughout their business
- Experience with and in-depth knowledge of the equity and fixed income markets and alternative investments, including Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Real Estate

Pay Range
$139,948.50 - $302,571.00
