Job Description
The Billing Specialist ensures the timely and accurate submission of insurance claims to all third-party payers and documents billing activity in the patient accounting system.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Flex time, 40 hours per week Monday through Friday 7am to 9am start time, 8-hour shift.
Work daily electronic billing file and submits insurance claims to third party payers.
Review daily edit reports from the billing system and makes necessary corrections to allow electronic submission.
Review error reports from electronic payers; identifies errors and makes appropriate corrections to ensure accurate claim submission.
Review Payer status reports and ensure all claims have been accepted at the payer site.
Process re-bills as requested by collectors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High School Diploma/GED
2 years Patient Accounting, specifically billing, collections, customer service, or cash application Preferred
1 year Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, Medical and Managed Care Contract terminology, and demonstrated knowledge of Revenue Cycle procedures Preferred
