Job Description

The Transfer Agency Specialist is within the Investor Services unit of SEI. This individual will be required to work closely with other members of the Investor Services Team to help grow a dedicated team in a high growth area of SEI. This individual will be responsible for interacting with all levels of professionals both internally and externally. Candidates must have a good understanding of Private Market Alternatives structures and related investment types and will ultimately be the main day-to-day contact for a number of Private Market Investor Services clients. 

This position may be eligible to be performed in a hybrid fashion (in the office 3 or more days/week, and from a home office up to 2 days/week), within any applicable tax and social security limits for cross-border work.

What you will do:

  • Review or prepare capital call and distribution calculations and notices.
  • Review or prepare Investors Capital Statements and relevant calculations.
  • Perform approval on Anti-Money Laundering and various investor eligibility checks in accordance with regulatory / fund guidelines;
  • Problem, error and query resolution on a timely basis (with documentation).
  • Ensure all processes are carried out to the highest standards and consistent levels of accuracy and attention to detail are maintained.
  • Ensure all established investor servicing procedures and controls are completed accurately and to specified deadlines;
  • Maintain a good working relationship with external clients as well as with internal relationship managers and other business units within SEI.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental procedures.
  • Review, and approve investor instructions and transaction documents prepared by delegates ensuring they are prepared in accordance with fund documentation requirements and SEI procedures;
  • Perform quality control checks and approval on client correspondence, investor and compliance reporting prepared by delegate operational teams where required;
  • Serve as main daily contact for our delegate colleagues in relation to a range of clients and their deliverables;
  • Ensure accurate and complete data is maintained in the TA system for all transfer agency clients;
  • Review for investor wire payment execution, bank account reconciliation and break item investigations completed by Dublin operations;
  • Ability to cover all fund types within the team when required;
  • Work closely with the fund accounting team, as well as other Investor Services teams, and be willing to assist in crossover duties.
  • Ability to work with peers & other teams to provide support and coverage, particularly our delegate teams.
  • Ensure efficient resolution of client queries;
  • Work with Manager to ensure employees adhere to company policies and procedures;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental procedures;
  • Idea generation and ongoing assessment and improvement of operational service model;
  • Ensure a seamless operational transition for new and converted funds from implementation to production mode from the implementation/conversion team;
  • Work on Projects / Ad-hoc tasks as required.

What you bring to the table:

  • 3 to 5 years Transfer Agency background with experience in Alternatives / Private Equity/ Hedge funds;
  • Experience in private equity and hedge fund TA transactions, i.e., Capital Calls, Distributions, Capital Statements
  • Experience with Investran, NTAS, or similar Transfer Agency system;
  • Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering and regulatory requirements;
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
  • Have experience in reviewing Limited Partnership Agreements and OM’s.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and manage time for efficiency and to meet strict deadlines;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills – fluency in English essential for both;
  • Individual with a positive “can do” attitude who takes ownership of assigned responsibilities;
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem solving skills;
  • Team player - flexible and adaptable;
  • Demonstrable ability to think strategically.
