Cardiovascular Surgical Institute of NW Florida is an ambulatory surgery center located in Panama City, FL. With two operating rooms, the center provides high-quality, cost-effective outpatient surgical care primarily for Cardiovascular procedures.
Owned and operated in partnership with Compass Surgical Partners (an ASC Management organization), the center combines advanced technology with compassionate, patient-centered care in a convenient setting.
Role Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) supports patients undergoing Cath Lab, and EP procedures requiring moderate sedation. This position is responsible for assessing patients before procedures, administering and monitoring moderate sedation under physician direction, delivering individualized nursing care, monitoring patient recovery, and collaborating with the procedural team to ensure safe, efficient care and optimal patient outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in procedural and recovery settings
Administer and monitor moderate sedation in accordance with physician orders and organizational protocols
Continuously monitor patient vital signs, airway status, oxygenation, and level of consciousness during procedures
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition or emergency situations
Assist physicians and procedural teams during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Document patient assessments, sedation administration, monitoring, and recovery accurately
Communicate effectively with physicians, team members, patients, and families
Maintain sterile environments and adhere to safety, infection prevention, and sedation protocols
Provide patient education regarding procedures, sedation, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
What You’ll Bring
Graduate of an accredited RN program
Current RN license (unencumbered)
At least 1 year of procedural, critical care, PACU, ICU, ER, Cath Lab, or perioperative nursing experience (within last 3–5 years)
Current BLS certification required
ACLS certification required (or obtained within 6 months of hire)
Preferred: Prior experience with moderate sedation administration and patient monitoring
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in high-acuity situations
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and manual dexterity
Exposure to procedural environments, medical equipment, and patient care areas
Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations and perform patient rescue interventions if needed
Full-time, on-site position (Monday–Friday)
