Primary Objective
The Accounting Supervisor is a hands-on leadership role at the center of our Finance team, responsible for the day-to-day operations of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Sales and Use Tax Compliance. You will partner with the Accounting Manager to strengthen internal controls, lead month-end close, and continuously improve processes across the department. This role is equally comfortable in the transactional detail and in analyzing results to drive better decisions.
Major Areas of Accountability
Supervision & People Management
- Lead, develop, and retain a skilled team across AP, AR, and Sales & Use Tax functions
- Hire and onboard team members; set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching
- Foster a collaborative, high-accountability work environment
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Foster a collaborative, high-accountability work environment
- Review accruals for corporate cards and delayed invoices; review balance sheet reconciliations including sales and use tax payable
- Review accounts receivable reserve and credit memo accrual calculations; monitor and ensure timely collection of receivables
- Analyze and summarize month-end financial results for management
Accounts Payable & Disbursements
- Review and approve weekly check and ACH payment runs; sample invoices to verify accuracy and policy compliance
- Review and approve manual journal entries as assigned
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Assist maintaining and improving the internal control environment, including SOX controls and external environment, including SOX controls and external audit readines
- Ensure daily operations comply with internal and external control requirements
- Develop, enforce, and continuously improve accounting policies and procedures
Process Improvement
- Utilize the ITW Toolbox philosophy to continuously analyze processes and systems to reduce complexity throughout the business
- Map, document, and simplify finance and accounting processes; lead simplification initiatives using established continuous improvement frameworks
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce complexity across systems and workflows
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Demonstrates experience supervising or leading others
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Effective communicator across functions and levels
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA
- Experience with a major ERP system (e.g., SAP)
- Experience with Concur or similar expense management tools
- Familiarity with enterprise and PC-based financial applications

Compensation Information:
$90,000 - $120,000 Annual Salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications
