Position Summary

The Account Executive at The Sales Tax People (an Amplēo company) is responsible for leading end-to-end sales efforts that turn complex sales and use tax challenges into clear growth opportunities for clients. This role combines consultative selling, cross-functional coordination, and deep sales tax expertise to drive new revenue, strengthen partnerships, and support scalable, repeatable growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle B2B sales from prospecting through close for sales and use tax services, SaaS-enabled solutions, and advisory engagements.
  • Drive proactive outbound prospecting through targeted outreach, networking, events, and referrals, while maximizing the impact of inbound and partner-generated leads.
  • Qualify opportunities for fit, complexity, and revenue potential, aligning them with our growth strategy and prioritizing high-value deals.
  • Deliver consultative presentations and demos that clearly articulate client pain points, quantify ROI, and connect tax outcomes to broader business goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing and partnerships to ensure cohesive campaigns, coordinated follow-up, and smooth transitions from initial engagement to closed-won.
  • Manage pricing strategy, proposal development, and negotiations to structure deals that meet both client needs and firm profitability targets.
  • Maintain accurate, timely CRM hygiene (HubSpot) to support forecasting, automation, and data-driven decision-making across the revenue organization.
  • Partner with delivery and client success teams to provide complete, high-quality handoffs that enable a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Build and nurture executive and functional relationships that lead to repeat business, referrals, and long-term advocacy.
  • Represent The Sales Tax People and Amplēo at industry events and within professional networks to elevate brand presence and generate new opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-cycle B2B sales experience in services, SaaS, or other consultative, solution-oriented environments.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets in a quota-carrying role.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Strong prospecting, pipeline management, and territory planning skills, supported by a disciplined, data-driven approach.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and familiarity with modern sales engagement tools.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts for non-technical buyers.

  • Preferred experience includes sales tax automation platforms, multi-state sales tax nexus and compliance, and familiarity with the broader indirect tax landscape.
  • Success is measured by revenue growth (ARR/TCV vs quota), pipeline quality and velocity, win rates, and accurate, disciplined CRM and forecast management.
  • Builds trusted, long-term client relationships that drive retention, expansion, referrals, and advocacy for The Sales Tax People and Amplēo.
  • Operates with a proactive, data-driven, relationship-oriented mindset and can translate complex sales tax requirements into clear business value for clients.
