Ensures safety and well-being of clients by continuously supervising therapeutic and recreational activities, intervening as necessary to control or channel inappropriate behaviors, making rounds, touring grounds, taking census counts, and so forth.
Acts as liaison between Direct Care Monitors and clinical treatment team by serving as the Staff on Duty and coordinating the work during the shift.
Guides and assists clients in complying with program rules and regulations.
Supervises client work functions in accordance with program policies; initiates lights out or morning wake-up routines according to established schedules.
Notifies appropriate personnel of residents failing to comply with Center policies and rules.
Updates and maintains client records that include recording clinical hours, therapeutic treatments, activity or group participation, job readiness progress, and so forth; in accordance with all local, state and federal contractual requirements. Ensures records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
Performs drug testing by collecting urine samples from clients for laboratory screening and administering breathalyzer to clients for detection of alcohol use randomly and at the time clients’ return from trips.
Performs body searches of clients and client property in accordance with policy.
Monitors clients self-administering medication in accordance with established program protocols and applicable laws.
Schedules and coordinates transportation of clients to appointments as necessary, in cooperation with treatment team members.
May drive vehicles in order to transport clients. Monitors client behavior during transport, maintains order in vehicle and ensures safety of passengers. Reports incidents or inappropriate behaviors to appropriate treatment team members.
Maintains log of mileage and destinations, passenger roster, and pick-ups and delivery times. Fuels and cleans vehicle interior and exterior, as necessary. Notifies supervisor of repairs or preventive maintenance required.
Serves as member of the treatment team by reporting client observations, incidents or unusual occurrences; contributes to decisions regarding treatment plans, discipline, conflict intervention or privileges. Assists team in maintaining consistent setting for treatment, and planning and coordinating client interaction events.
Performs variety of related office and technical duties as necessary such as answering telephones, relaying messages, responding to inquiries regarding program services and policies, filing, photocopying and faxing documents, planning special events, assembling intake packets, participating in client activities to promote socialization, overseeing client telephone calls, and so forth.
Participates in Performance Improvement activities as appropriate.
