Job Summary
Serves patients by greeting them, answering routine questions, registering patients, and maintaining records and accounts. Responsible for creating a positive patient experience by facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers and ensuring efficient office operations. Responsible for scheduling appointments which will provide timely, accurate, friendly, and clinically appropriate patient access. The Patient Service Coordinator responds to incoming correspondence from patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and beyond, in accordance with patient privacy and safety standards.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.
Experience
- Basic math and computer skills required. One (1) year medical clerical work experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
- Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use).
- Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation skills necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians, members of leadership team, patients and families.
- Must be organized, flexible and a team player. Demonstrates the ability to work efficiently and organize time appropriately in order to accomplish daily work.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities while using leadership behaviors.
