Copperweld is looking for a driven, dedicated Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance and reliability operations for our manufacturing facility in Fayetteville, TN. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant equipment and machinery while driving continuous improvement in uptime, asset reliability, and maintenance effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong reliability mindset with experience leading preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives, developing maintenance teams, and driving root cause problem solving efforts. This leader will work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and operations teams to improve equipment performance, operational efficiency, and overall plant reliability.
WHAT we need you to do.
- Oversee all maintenance activities, including the repair and upkeep of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and increase productivity.
- Lead and manage the maintenance team, providing training, coaching, and support to ensure high levels of performance and safety standards.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance program to ensure the longevity and reliability of machinery and equipment.
- Quickly identify mechanical issues, troubleshoot equipment failures, and determine the most effective and cost-efficient repair methods.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards to create a safe working environment.
- Monitor and control maintenance-related budgets, making sure repairs and parts are cost effective, and identifying opportunities to reduce maintenance expenses.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring the availability of necessary items for repairs and scheduled maintenance.
- Work closely production, engineering, and other departments, to coordinate maintenance schedules and improve uptime, and avoid production disruptions.
- Manage CMMS systems, preventive maintenance scheduling, and maintenance reporting to support operational reliability.
- Complete other work as assigned.
WHAT you need to possess.
- Associate’s degree with 7+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial machinery, electrical systems, and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair skills.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to enforce and maintain safety protocols.
- Proficiency in CMMS systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, go-getter attitude.
- Experience leading and managing teams.
- Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail to ensure proper equipment function and prevent failures.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working with machinery and equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions and occasionally in confined spaces
