Job Description
The successful candidate will support environmental investigation and remediation projects in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Metropolitan New York areas. In this position, the selected candidate will collaborate with numerous teams and will work closely with Professional Geologists (PGs) and Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs). Our team is committed to providing mentorship and skill development as key components for your career advancement. Also, there will be opportunities to engage with Engineers, and other technical experts on a variety of projects, which include geologic and environmental investigation, data evaluation, modeling, and reporting.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Coordinate and perform field tasks at industrial and hazardous waste sites primarily in the NJ, PA, and NY region. Field tasks may include working with a variety of field meters/test kits, instruments, pumps, data loggers, and other equipment; sampling (soil, groundwater, sediment, and/or air); subcontractor coordination and oversight (drilling, monitoring well installations, surveys, etc.); and site reconnaissance.
- Completion of detailed field documentation such as job safety analysis (JSA) forms, project field forms/reports, field notes, and chain-of-custody forms.
- Contribute to preparation of reports and other documentation; perform analytical data evaluation and management; and assist in technical evaluations of data commensurate with technical skills.
- Completion of field work with basic supervision and advance toward working with limited supervision.
- Position will require approximately 80% field work with occasional overnight and weekend travel.
Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license and US citizenship.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline. A Geologist-in-Training license (or eligibility/interest to obtain) is preferred.
- 0-2 years of technical and field investigation experience, including but not limited to sampling soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and indoor air; soil excavation oversight; well installations and development; subcontractor oversight; remedial activities; and other related techniques under state and federally regulated programs. Soil logging/rock core logging experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of computer software including MS Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, ArcGIS, Survey123, and/or Qnopy is a plus.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn NJDEP, PADEP, and USEPA regulatory requirements and Technical Guidance documents.
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is a plus. Training can be completed if selected for position.

- Ability to travel to work locations, typically in PA, NJ, and NY. Some overnight and weekend travel may be required.

Salary Transparency Statement
At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an annual base salary between $59,000 - $72,000. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and skill level, and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
