SENIOR QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST

POSITION SUMMARY

Works collaboratively with the various groups within the Information Technology department and with the business units to ensure that the appropriate level of quality is designed into information technology solutions. Assures QA standards, guidelines and procedures are adhered to. This is a hands-on manual execution role that is expected to learn Test Automation. Travel may be required up to 10%. Salary Band 7.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Knowledge

- Prepares, documents, executes, analyzes, and presents test cases/plans

- Utilizes relevant QA/QC tools and aids

- Reviews and modifies test cases/plans to meet quality guidelines

- Ensures changes do not impact other systems or interfaces

- Stays updated on IT trends and quality assurance practices

- May assist in vendor software evaluation, conversion planning, migration planning and test estimates

Business Focus

- Understands business requirements and how quality control solutions impact the business

Other

- Communication: Communicates with internal customers in non-technical terms. Communicates with applications, architecture and operations teams on issues that are encountered in testing and possible resolutions. 

- Developing Others: Trains and mentors new and/or less experienced team members in quality related areas

- Teamwork: Works with other groups and departments to develop and implement solutions in a timely manner

- Work Quality: Reviews test cases/plans to ensure adherence to specifications, quality, and procedural standards

- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned

Nature and Scope:

- Role is limited to assigning work and reviewing work of others, does not conduct performance reviews

- Works under limited supervision, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals

- Leads small to medium projects; participates in projects of all sizes

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, business, or related field preferred

Years of Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant information technology experience, with the most recent experience preferably in quality assurance testing.

Required Skills

- In-depth knowledge of relevant information technologies and quality application development

- Experience across full development lifecycle, including reviewing requirements, creating and executing test plans/cases/scripts, and estimating test effort

- Familiarity with current software testing methodologies, approaches, and QA tools

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

- High attention to detail and ability to multi-task/manage competing priorities

Preferred Skills

- Working knowledge of webMethods, API testing, and job scheduling tools (e.g., Appworx)

- Advanced SQL/plSQL skills for database querying and data validation

- Experience leading and planning upgrade/conversion testing

- Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities

- Experience with Oracle EBS, EDI, Jira/Xray, and test automation

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
