 This position is open and available in the Ventura, Los Angeles, and Orange County areas

Major Responsibilities 
 

  • Practices standard precautions and disease-specific precautions by proper utilization of handwashing and personal protective equipment.
  • Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
  • Maintains awareness of dignity, comfort and safety needs of patient.
  • Always provides excellent patient care.
  • Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies provider of patient's condition as well as any changes to the patient’s condition, reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.

 

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications 
 

  1. State medical license
  2. Minimum of 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care, with at least one year of SOLO experience.
  3. Board eligibility or certification
  4. Experience in procedures including suturing and splinting, reading diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKGs
  5. BLS/ACLS and PALS certification. 
  6. Outstanding bedside manner with children and adults
  7. Energetic attitude which inspires other team members
  8. Desire to contribute to building and maintaining a great organization
  9. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  10. Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  11. Competence with computer use and EMR.
  12. Proficient at intravenous access for blood draw and drug administration.

 

Working Conditions 
 
 Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
