As a Security Officer Full Time Credential Verification in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location where you will help manage access control, monitor entry points, conduct routine patrols, and support badge and visitor activity. In this role, you will remain visible to help discourage security-related concerns while delivering strong customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and/or vendors by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying credentials, and documenting entry and exit activity at the location.
- Monitor entry points, gates, and/or restricted areas to help support authorized access, report unusual activity, and communicate security-related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with emergency response activities and preparing clear, timely reports.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, yards, docks, parking areas, and perimeter locations, observing conditions and reporting maintenance, traffic, and/or security-related issues.
- Operate access control systems, visitor logs, radios, and/or other site equipment used to support daily operations within a fast-paced logistics and distribution location.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- A TSA-issued TWIC is required.
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control/badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
