We are presently seeking full-time Medical Assistants in our Behavioral Healthcare Division. The positions are available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, across multiple locations:

  • Al-Assist Behavioral Healthcare Center, 4500 - 4510 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19124
  • Al-Assist Behavioral Healthcare Center, 1401 S. 4th St. Phila., PA 19147
  • GPHA Dental and Behavioral Healthcare Center 5501 Woodland Ave., Phila., PA 19143
  • Spectrum Behavioral Healthcare Center, 1489 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, PA 19064

We require Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) and, at minimum, a High School Diploma (or GED). CPR certification is required. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience is preferred; NetSmart experience is a plus. Foreign language skills are not required, but proficiency in a second language is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to engage individuals sympathetically and proficiently. Proven capability to collaborate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and team members. 

Specific Responsibilities and duties include: 

Preparing patients for office visits and assisting psychiatrist with baseline UDS data for psychiatric evaluations; Triaging patients, including but not limited to vital signs, blood pressure, weight, and height; Preparing specimens for pick up by Laboratory; Safely administering & document injections; Maintaining required logs; Performs specific procedures and diagnostic testing ordered by the provider; Perform EKG, breathalyzer and point of care testing; Processes all clinical forms as necessary; Performs Lab Quality Control procedures accurately; and, Maintains a safe and orderly lab station and clinical environment.

The Medical Assistant also operates the paging/telephone system as assigned; Greets, and provides direction/information to patients, visitors, guests, and sales representatives professionally and cordially; Attends all mandatory staff development/training sessions and staff meetings; Enters and updates patient's demographic information accurately and timely; and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
