Job Description

The Detail Team Lead is a crucial part of our business, bridging the gap between hourly employees and the leadership team. This position is expected to demonstrate the highest level of performance and excellence in the Operations Department. The ideal Detail Team Lead is someone who exemplifies all four of our CORE values: DRIVE, DELIGHT, DETAIL, and DEVELOP. The Detail Team Lead will partner with all leadership managers at their respective facilities to provide a best-in-class, clean, and safe environment that enhances member experiences and builds member satisfaction. This role also involves assisting the Operations Manager in managing the Play Department and supporting maintenance tasks to ensure the overall functionality and appeal of the facilities. Additionally, the Detail Team Lead will lead by example in maintaining a positive culture and ensuring that our facilities meet cleanliness and safety standards daily

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 

Ensure all areas of the club, both internal and external, including walkways and parking lots, are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

Routinely complete walkthroughs, including tasks such as trash removal, locker room spot cleaning, and re-racking weights.

Oversee the execution of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks assigned by Defined Fitness Management.

Assist the Operations Manager in managing the Play Department, ensuring play areas are clean, safe, organized, and enjoyable for members.

Support maintenance tasks, including routine inspections, minor repairs, and reporting significant maintenance needs to the Operations Manager.

Communicate regularly and effectively with team members and other departments to ensure seamless operation.

Assist with large projects, such as painting, under supervision, and manage the completion of these projects.

Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a clean and organized facility for members to utilize.

Lead and motivate Detail Team Members, ensuring they adhere to cleaning schedules and protocols.

Conduct regular inspections to ensure the cleanliness and safety of all club facilities.

Maintain records of cleaning tasks and inventory of cleaning supplies.

Successful Completion of a 90-day Initiative Action Plan 

Attend all Mandatory meetings set out for the Operations Department 



KPI Requirements: 

The Detail Team Lead will be measured by specific KPIs. All KPIs will contribute to the overall goals set out for their respective club, while offering support in ensuring the success of the Operations Manager. All Metrics are measured on a monthly basis: 

Equipment condition MXN Score 8.5 or Higher 

Contribute to MXN Score Monthly Minimums in Cleanliness, Friendliness and overall scores = 7.5 or Higher

Club Audit 85% or Better

Contribute to assisting Operations Manager in staffing. 

Hourly bathroom checks

Daily club inspection (1 per shift) 

Inventory check and restock daily (2 per day)

100% Compliance with Team Clean Schedules: at 11:00AM, 2:00PM 4:00PM

Success Factors: 

Ability to maintain the highest level of cleanliness standards across respective facilities.

Effectively lead and motivate the Detail, Play and Maintenance Team to achieve daily cleaning and maintenance goals.

Proactively identify and resolve cleanliness and maintenance issues before they are noticed by members.

Consistently receive positive feedback from members regarding the cleanliness and condition of the facility.

Ensure a safe and clean environment that meets all health and safety standards.

Job Requirements:

Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed, outlines in training manual 

Log all maintenance concerns reported to the front desk.

Report safety concerns to the appropriate department head or General Manager.

Responsible for reporting Incident Reports to the General Manager.

Adheres to the Detail Team Lead schedule and follows correct attendance policies.

Performs other reasonable work assignments as directed by the Gym General Manager and/or Operations Manager, including duties involving detailing/organizing the facility.

Assists with detailing duties as needed, such as team cleans or detailed inspections of locker rooms




Qualifications: 

One year of Defined Fitness Detail/Play Experience, Preferred 

Ability to use sound business judgment and have strong analytical aptitude 

Ability to effectively communicate with constituents

Effective listening skills 

Ability to effectively delegate and follow up on delegation tasks 

Effective planning and organization skills

Demonstrates willingness and openness for self-development

Ability to identify and use resources to improve overall operations 

Strong leadership qualities coupled with excellent motivational, communication and team-building skills 

College Degree, Preferred 

Current CPR Certification, Required

Physical Requirements: 

Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours at a time 

Must be able to properly life and carry approximately 25 pounds 

Must be able to perform the following tasks: walking, squatting, bending, stooping, standing, listening, speaking, reading and writing
