Position Summary:
The Cybersecurity Intern provides entry-level IT Security and assists the IT Team with day-to-day security governance, compliance and larger cybersecurity projects. This role offers firsthand experience in risk analysis, regulatory compliance, and crafting policy and procedural guidelines to meet corporate needs under the guidance of senior IT staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cyber security training campaigns for the Fathom staff
- Respond to security incidents
- Gather evidence in support of Fathom’s CMMC 2.0 compliance efforts for Ithaca and Hartland
- Assist Hartland’s NIST SP 800-171 Self-assessment
- Assist with organizing the Hartland Plan of Action and Milestones
- Draft cybersecurity procedures
- Collaborating with IT team on the implementation of Microsoft Intune
- Track security gap closure
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Basic understanding of hardware, operating systems, Cloud computing, and networking
- Familiarity with security protocols in network, infrastructure, email, encryption
- Basic knowledge of NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, and ITAR
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Good communication and writing skills
- Good research skills
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory or Azure
- Interest in manufacturing or industrial IT environments
- Understanding of cybersecurity and governance
Education Background:
- Currently enrolled in, recently completed, or pursuing coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related technical field preferred
