For our Ludwigshafen site, we are looking for a Site Manager who takes full ownership of operations and leads the site with a strong focus on safety, performance and people.
Your role
As Site Manager, you are fully accountable for all operational activities at our Ludwigshafen site, covering both our Fertilizers operations and the Service Company. You lead cross-functional teams across HSE, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain and Production, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant operations.
This is a high-impact leadership role with direct influence on site performance and continuous improvement. You will lead a team of over 100 employees in a combined production and service environment and report directly to the Senior VP Global Operations.
Your key responsibilities:
- Full ownership of all site operations, ensuring safety, performance and compliance
- Drive a HSE culture and oversee all Health, Safety and Environment programs
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and internal standards
- Own and continuously improve key operational KPIs (e.g., OEE)
- Define and execute CapEx and maintenance strategies to ensure asset reliability
- Manage site costs (fixed costs, headcount, maintenance CapEx)
- Act as a key interface to other business functions
- Partner proactively with the Works Council and unions in close collaboration with HR
- Represent the site in town hall meetings and externally towards key stakeholders
About you
We are looking for a hands-on and strategic leader with a proven track record of leadership experience (minimum 10 years) including responsibility for production sites and operations. You have a degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration or similar).
You also bring:
- Strong track record in process optimization and continuous improvement
- Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and delegation frameworks
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Native-level German and fluent English are required
