Job Overview
Serve as the first point of contact for guests, creating a warm, welcoming, and organized arrival experience. The Host manages reservations, seating flow, and communication between guests and the service team to support smooth operations and an exceptional dining experience.
They are an ambassador of happiness and hospitality for all guests and associates.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Showcase an inherent desire to take care of others.
- Greet guests warmly and promptly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage reservations and waitlists to support efficient seating and dining room flow.
- Answer and manage phone calls professionally; book reservations and update reservation systems accurately.
- Escort guests to tables and communicate special requests or needs to service associates.
- Maintain awareness of dining room pacing, table status, and guest flow throughout service.
- Communicate clearly with management, culinary, and service associates to support seamless operations.
- Support the dining room team during peak periods by assisting with menus, table resets, or guest needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry areas.
- Complete assigned opening, closing, and restocking sidework.
- Attend pre-meal and departmental meetings to stay informed on menu offerings, specials, and service standards.
- Present a clean, professional appearance at all times.
- Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Exhibits a kind, welcoming, detail-oriented approach with a strong sense of urgency.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Formal Training
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality or guest service experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
- Basic knowledge of hospitality principles and the role of a restaurant host.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, associates, and supervisors.
- Ability to read and follow instructions, reservations, and service notes.
- Manual coordination to operate reservation systems and assist with menus or trays as needed.

- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain organization in high-pressure settings.
