Description:
Travels to nursing units and clinical areas to retrieve clinical documents of in-house and discharged patients for prepping, scanning, indexing, and validation of documents into the electronic health records (EHR) for timely electronic access by provider for management of patient care. Responds to requests for release of medical records and releases timely protected health information according to Federal Law, our client‘s Policy and Procedures, and HIPAA guidelines. Interview patients and obtains timely and accurate information following Florida Department of Health and the Office of Vital Statistics for completion of Certificate of Live Birth. Works as a team to meet departmental goals producing time line and 98% work accuracy. Assists with departmental coverage at the different HIM locations. Estimated pay range for this position is $16.28 - $20.67 / hour depending on experience.
Qualifications:
Degrees:
- High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- The A+ certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of computer and clinical chart format.
- Ability to work in a high volume high producing focused setting.
- Excellent communication skills and comprehension of oral and written instructions.
- Attentive to fine details and eye hand coordination.
