KBR’s Integrated Solutions Americas is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to support large EPC projects. This role operates with a high level of responsibility and professional judgment within established organizational and project frameworks. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and managing logistics processes and work methods, as well as developing contracts and overseeing all related activities to ensure seamless project delivery.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Executes and supervises cradle to grave purchasing activities (including bid, evaluate, award cycle, execution of agreements, execution of changes, price and schedule negotiations) for a specific project.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives for assigned project.
- Understand, track, and forecast the key cost drivers and market factors for assigned equipment.
- Assist in developing project specific sourcing strategies to support corporate and divisional objectives, providing the company competitive advantage in the areas of materials, supplies, and services and ensure the alignment with Engineering.
- Identify corrective actions and measures in case of quality or schedule issues with suppliers.
- Works closely with Engineering and the projects team.
- Assures that problems are reported in a timely manner to project teams and senior procurement management.
- Locate, analyze, and develop a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future needs.
- Create and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement.
- Provide input to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process, procedures and tools.
- Conducts the orderly closeout of Procurement operations, including settlement of claims and back-charges, and resolving punch list items assigned to Procurement.
- Prepares and edits presentations describing Procurement methods, trends of lead times, prices, or other relevant information within Procurement’s scope of activities.
- Helps develop KPIs and/or provide data to support KPIs for assigned project.
- Participates in important negotiations and in claim negotiations for their assigned scope at a high level.
- Adheres to all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 10+ years of Procurement and Supply Chain Management experience in a global EPC company executing contracts in key industries, such as oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical, chemical, etc.
- Preference of detailed purchasing experience and knowledge in all equipment and material categories
- Experience in purchasing or subcontracts, including bid, evaluate, award cycle, execution of agreements, execution of changes, price and schedule negotiations, and commercial strategy.
- Advanced professional proficiency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal) is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in order to flow goals and directives and effectively communicate commercial solutions and concepts to procurement personnel and non-procurement personnel
- Ability to work in a complex schedule driven work environment
- Procurement experience in “lump-sum” business
- Experience with e-procurement tools, such as e-bidding or e-auctions
- Computer proficiency as well as intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office products.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record in cost reduction and control.
- Knowledge of global supplier market for capital project equipment and material categories
- Must be willing to work in Mexico City and potentially mobilize to the jobsite within Mexico.

Location of Position: Mexico City, KBR’s Client’s Offices
Position Reports to: Sr. Director of Procurement, Integrated Solutions Americas
Employment Type: Project-based hire (temporary assignment) with an estimated duration of 1 year, aligned to specific project needs, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.
Work Authorization: Candidates must have legal authorization to work in Mexico.
