
Clinical Practice Specialty Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Job Description
Essential Job Function:
- Assists healthcare professionals to deliver patient care by preparing patients for examination, obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, and updating patient records.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to facilitate communication and coordination of care to improve patient outcomes.
- Processes recommendations from healthcare providers, such as medication orders, referrals, and diagnostic tests, to ensure accuracy and timely execution.
- Assists with implementing prescribed medical interventions and treatments to ensure strict adherence to protocols and promote patient safety.
- Administers medications and treatments, follows established protocols and guidelines to ensure accurate documentation and patient safety.
- Protects patient confidentiality by ensuring that health information and records are communicated with consistency with the appropriate standards, laws, and company policies.
- Helps to respond to emergencies and safety hazards by utilizing personal protective equipment and hospital precautions to avoid patient harm.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required: Diploma in Practical Nursing.
Experience:
- Required: 1 year as a Licensed Practical Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty hired as defined by ANCC or national nursing organization.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Licensed Practical Nurse LPN licensed in North Carolina or Compact State, BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
