Job Overview:
Rex Moore is seeking two motivated, tech-curious high school students or recent graduates to join our Summer 2026 AI Internship Program. This is a paid, eight-week internship embedded within the Information Technology Department. The program is structured in two phases: a three-week AI foundations and training phase, followed by a five-week applied project phase in which each intern designs and builds a working AI-powered tool for a RexMoore business department.
Interns will gain hands-on experience with industry-leading AI platforms including Claude and Microsoft Copilot, learn practical prompt engineering and introductory Python programming, and develop real-world skills in applying technology to solve business problems. Throughout the program, interns will also support the IT team with day-to-day operations. The internship concludes with a formal presentation of each intern’s AI project to company leadership.
Prior AI experience is not required. What matters most is genuine curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to doing meaningful work in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks:
- Complete structured AI training during Weeks 1–3, covering Claude, Copilot, prompt engineering, Python fundamentals, and basic API integration.
- Design, build, and deliver a working AI-powered tool for an assigned RexMoore department during the applied project phase (Weeks 4–8).
- Support IT department operations throughout the program, including helpdesk support, hardware and software setup, asset documentation, and general IT tasks.
- Participate in daily morning stand-ups to review priorities and surface blockers.
- Attend weekly formal progress reviews with the IT Director to assess learning and plan the upcoming week.
- Collaborate with fellow interns to share ideas, troubleshoot challenges, and push each other’s technical growth.
- Present completed AI project to company leadership in a professional setting during Weeks 7–8.
