Referral Coordinator - Neurosurgery

Under general supervision, ensures that all referrals from Primary Care Physicians are handled according to practice and payer guidelines and that patients receive appropriate support in obtaining needed services. Ensures that referral and pre-authorization activities are undertaken in order to provide maximum patient and provider satisfaction and maximum reimbursement. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Two years related medical office experience Accurate data entry skills Current knowledge of payer requirements for referrals and preauthorization Knowledge of GE/IDX or similar computerized billing system Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding General understanding of back office
