ABOUT OUR ROLE 

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Resort Grounds & Landscaping Lead to oversee the appearance, cleanliness, and maintenance of our beach resort’s outdoor areas. This position leads daily grounds operations, supervises grounds staff, and helps ensure guests enjoy a safe, beautiful, and welcoming environment throughout the property.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of landscaping, leadership skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining high hospitality standards.


ESSENTIAL 

FUNCTIONS 


  • Supervise and coordinate daily groundskeeping activities for resort landscaping and outdoor maintenance.
  • Maintain lawns, gardens, palm trees, flower beds, walkways, beach access areas, and outdoor guest spaces. 
  • Operate and maintain landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation systems. 
  • Train, schedule, and oversee grounds staff to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. 
  • Inspect property regularly and address landscaping, cleanliness, or safety concerns promptly with the Chief Engineer.
  • Assist with planting, fertilizing, pruning, mulching, and pest control applications/ or overseeing work of 3rd party service providers.
  • Maintain pool decks, the promenade, parking areas, and exterior resort facilities. 
  • Monitor inventory of landscaping supplies and equipment. 
  • Coordinate with maintenance and sales departments during special group events and peak guest periods. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies and procedures.
  • Respond to storm preparation and post-storm cleanup as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of landscaping or grounds maintenance experience 
  • Plant care, and landscaping techniques 
  • Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely 
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail 
  • A valid driver’s license


Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
  • Experience working at resorts, hotels, or beachfront properties 
  • Knowledge of North Carolina coastal landscaping 
  • Basic maintenance or repair skills 
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities


PHYSICAL 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, cold, and direct sunlight. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with assistance when needed. 
  • Ability to safely operate landscaping and groundskeeping equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge clippers, and utility vehicles. 
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks involving manual labor and hand-eye coordination. 
  • Ability to maintain visual awareness and hearing sufficient to safely perform job duties and operate equipment.

SCHEDULE

Hospitality demands a flexible schedule that may require extended hours as the business requires coverage including seasonality– on any day at any hour, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

PAY RATE

$22.00-$25.00/Hour
