Description

Here is What Your Day May consist of:

• Specific duties may include: 
  • Bathing: Washing dogs using appropriate shampoos and conditioners, ensuring a thorough clean. 
  • Drying: Safely and effectively drying the dog's coat, using towels and potentially dryers. 
  • Brushing: Removing loose hair, mats, and tangles from the dog's coat. 
  • Nail trimming: Trimming dogs' nails to a safe length, often using clippers. 
  • Ear cleaning: Cleaning the ear canal to remove debris and wax buildup. 
  • Maintaining grooming area: Keeping the bathing and grooming area clean and organized. 
  • Interacting with customers: Communicating with pet owners about their dog's grooming needs. 
  • Monitoring dog's well-being: Observing the dog for any signs of health issues or discomfort during the grooming process.
  • Assisting groomers: In some cases, dog bathers may also assist professional groomers with more advanced tasks like clipping and styling.

Here is What You May Bring to the Position:

• Previous Experience: Experience as a bather or in a related role, such as in a grooming or veterinary setting, is preferred but not required.
• Love for Animals: A passion for working with pets and providing them with gentle and attentive care.
• Ability to Work Independently: Ability to handle pets of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments safely and effectively.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, especially in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring pets’ well-being during their time in the grooming area.
• Team Player: Ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, lift, stoop, and squat, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Flexible Availability: Must be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week, including weekends.
