Financial Analyst I (Financial Analyst), Temporary

Performs complex (journey-level) financial analysis and regulatory work. Work involves compiling, reviewing, and analyzing financial data, preparing summaries and responding to inquiries. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. 

 This position:

· This is a temporary position which will end on August 31, 2027.

· Travel is required for up to 5% of the time. If travel is over 10%, you must maintain a state of Texas Driver’s License.

· Perform forensic accounting and criminal litigation support involving financial fraud and insurance fraud investigations, tracing funds, assets, and the distribution of fraudulent proceeds in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

· As part of criminal investigations, perform financial institution account(s) statement(s) conversions using a comprehensive financial investigative solution tool, identify relevant information, conduct analysis, document results in written narrative. 

· Communicate with analysts and investigators on the direction of criminal investigations, exercise analytical skills for details, problem-solving and research applicable insurance and penal code state and federal statutes. 

· Create exhibits that may be used in trial demonstrating any fraudulent activity discovered during forensic analysis. 

· Adheres to forensic accounting policies and procedures for the unit.

· Participates in working groups and meetings.

· Performs other duties as assigned.  

This position requires: 

· Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or a related field. 

· Regular work attendance.  

This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

· State laws, rules, procedures, and regulations relevant to job requirements.

· Ethics and compliance.

· Computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite, incl. Excel.

· Analytical techniques.

· Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

· Statement on Standards for Forensic Services No. 1 (SSFS 1).

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

· Problem solving and critical thinking.

· Using Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

· Using personal computers sufficient to enter and extract data from related systems and programs such as Centralized Accounting Payroll and Personnel (CAPPS) and other systems required to perform the job.

· Communicate and work effectively with all levels of employees and the public. 

· Use of technology and accounting programs. 

· Project management. 

This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

· Communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people with varied skills, knowledge, and backgrounds.

· Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

· Analyze and solve work-related problems and work independently on a variety of administrative work and technical assignments.

· Manage and coordinate multiple tasks and priorities to meet necessary deadlines.

· Work both independently and as a team player.

· Prepare financial spreadsheets and summaries. 

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers. 

· Read, comprehend, and apply rules and statutes.
