Cook Children’s Health Care System (CCHCS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has an opportunity for a full-time board eligible/board certified Pediatric Palliative Care physician. The successful candidate will join a well-established, high functioning interdisciplinary team which includes four physicians, four nurse practitioners, nurses and clinical therapists who work in close collaboration with spiritual care and child life teams.
We are a consultative service within a large pediatric healthcare system, including a 477-bed tertiary care pediatric hospital with an average daily inpatient census of 20-30 patients. We also regularly see patients for new consults or follow-up visits on an outpatient basis in our own in-person clinic or via our virtual home-based telemedicine program. Call responsibility will be 1:5. The team sees patients of all ages and all stages of disease. We follow patients with a diverse variety of medical conditions. There are opportunities to work with home-based hospice services if desired.
Good communication and collaboration skills and flexibility are desired qualities. Teaching, committee, and research opportunities are available to those who are interested.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required.
Unrestricted Texas Medical license (must obtain prior to start date).
Must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Medical Association (AMA) approved residency for pediatrics.
Board certified/board eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
American Heart Association BLS and PALS.
