POSITION SUMMARY 

The Project Manager I (PM I) is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering business projects in alignment with Credit Union West’s strategic goals. The PM I manages assigned projects from initiation through closure, working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The PM I coordinates project parameters and schedules, resource plans, and ensures that tasks are completed on time and within scope. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to evolving project needs and to escalate issues appropriately. The PM I serves as the primary point of contact for their projects and regularly reports status and outcomes to the Program Manager. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Project Planning and Execution – Develop project plans, define scope, timelines, and milestones in collaboration with stakeholders. Manage project activities and ensure deliverables meet requirements. Adjust plans as needed to address issues or changes, under guidance of the Program Manager. 

• Stakeholder Communication and Reporting – Facilitate effective communication among project team members, stakeholders, and management. Provide regular project status updates, document meeting outcomes and action items, and escalate critical issues to the Program Manager, ensuring transparency in project progress, risks, and decisions. 

• Resource & Risk Management – Coordinate and allocate resources (staff, time, budget) for projects. Identify potential risks and issues early; maintain a project risk log and work on mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes. 

• Performance and Continuous Improvement – Ensure successful delivery of projects in line with corporate objectives and individual performance goals. Assist in reviewing project outcomes to identify lessons learned, and contribute to ongoing improvements in project management processes. 

• Performs other duties as assigned. 


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS 

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE: 2 - 3 years of project management and/or project coordination experience, demonstrating the ability to lead projects to completion. Experience with financial institutions is strongly preferred. (Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification preferred but not required.)

• Present a professional, courteous image when interacting with members, co-workers, the Board of Directors, management, business partners, and the community to build strong collaborative business relationships. 

• Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and collaborative tools (Teams and Zoom). 

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of organization’s Employee Handbook and policies. 

• Must demonstrate functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
