Position Summary
The Guestroom Inspector works under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Housekeeper. Supervises work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly attractive rooms in hotels and similar establishments by performing the following duties.
Primary Responsibilities
- Obtains list of vacant rooms which need to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check outs in order to prepare work assignments
- Assigns workers their duties, and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness
- Advises manager or desk clerk of rooms ready for occupancy
- Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies; Issues supplies and equipment to workers
- Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action
- Records data concerning work assignments, personnel actions, and time cards, and prepares periodic reports
- Directly supervises 7 to 10 employees in the Housekeeping Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Works with Executive Housekeeper to obtain list of vacant rooms to be cleaned & list of prospective checkouts or discharges in order to prepare work assignments
- Assists / Cleans guest rooms on regular basis with Room Attendants
- Maintain cleanliness of storage rooms & stocks cart
- Maintains a positive and professional attitude with staff at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in all aspects of Housekeeping in a large, multi-use facility required
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Excellent verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Standing for long periods of time to inspect guest rooms and public areas
- Sitting, walking, and standing during shift
- Light lifting possible for stocking supplies and materials
- Ability to perform duties for supervised employees
