We are searching for an energetic and upbeat individual to join our team and learn quality skills as an Apprentice Mechanic.
Apprentice Mechanics work at a Corporate Shop location and perform services and repairs on Oak Harbor equipment, while continuously training and learning valuable mechanical skills. They help other Mechanics maintain a fleet of various pieces of equipment including diesel trucks, semi-trailers, converter dollies and forklifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Will be trained in basic Class 7 and 8 diesel truck and trailer repairs.
Will be trained to complete preventative maintenance inspections.
Complete PM’s and repairs to OHFL quality standards.
Will be trained to perform wider variety of overall mechanical tasks with minimal or no supervision.
Will be trained to perform preventative maintenance repairs, including heavy equipment.
Perform work and maintain work area in accordance with OHFL and DOT standards for safety.
Assumes and performs other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein as requested.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 yrs. old or 21 yrs. old if operating OHFL trucks outside company terminals.
Possess desire to acquire the skills needed to become a mechanic.
Self-motivation and organizational skills preferred.
Reading, Mathematics, and simple arithmetic, writing, weighing, and/or measuring.
Basic knowledge on how to use hand tools.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
Ability and flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends.
Trade school experience and training preferred but not required.
H.S. diploma or GED/equivalent preferred.
Basic English language proficiency (reading, writing and verbal) is required.
