QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous aide, educational support, or teaching experience preferred
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries and high expectations
- Ability to work effectively with at-risk students from diverse backgrounds and varying social, emotional, and academic needs
- Ability to help create and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Works collaboratively and respectfully with students, staff, families, and the public
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm, flexible, and professional in high-pressure situations
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and staff

JOB SUMMARY
Supports the General Educational Environment in collaboration with all staff.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with Students
- Campus supervision
- Intervenes when students exhibit antisocial behavior
- Respond to student behavioral needs
- Collaborate with teachers and all other staff to provide a safe environment for students
- Communicate with the admin about students
Other
- Attend faculty meetings as required
- Keep the immediate supervisor informed of activities and problems
- Assume responsibility for his or her continuing professional growth and development
- Seek assistance should emergencies arise
- Represent the school district in a positive manner
- Know and follow the school district policy and chain of command
- Perform other duties as assigned

EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the classroom teacher and/or special education teacher and/or the director of special services in conformance with any applicable federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This position shall be considered in all respects "employment at will". The "employment period" and other descriptions and terms set forth in this job description shall not create a property right for the employee. These are set forth only to advise the employee of when and what type of services will be required by the district so long as the employment continues.
NOTE
All certificated and non-certificated employees and other individuals are required to undergo a criminal history check and submit to fingerprinting.
