Job Description

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Job Goal: To provide behavior analysis and behavior management plans for students; provide support and professional learning to school staff and parents/guardians in appropriate behavior intervention 

techniques; use principles of research to facilitate changes in behaviors.

Terms of Employment: Compensation will be based on 195 contract days,7.5 hours per day, and on the board-approved 21BA schedule.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. Valid license to practice ABA Therapy from the Kentucky Applied Behavior Analysis Licensing Board.
  2. Current certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  3. Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis
  4. Experience working with children/adolescents with a variety of psychiatric and/or behavioral disorders, including those on the autism spectrum

 

Major Job Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct functional behavioral assessments, and design, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans for individual students.
  2. Consult with school staff working with students having behavioral needs on behavior management techniques and information on specific student needs.
  3. Create and assist district staff with the development and implementation of behavior plans, ABA programs and other appropriate programs for students presenting behavior/learning challenges.
  4. Provide consultation, development, and intervention regarding behavior management, effective education, and assessment of specific behavioral needs of students with disabilities.
  5. Provide professional learning and support to administrators, educators, para-educators and parents/guardians in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), and/or other evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavior difficulties.

 

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Work with students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors and provide support and professional learning for staff who work with students who exhibit such.
  2. Oversee the implementation of behavior programs by others.
  3. Implement and manage Nonviolent Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI).
  4. Serve as the liaison between students receiving services and outside providers, private psychiatrists, psychologists and community agencies.
  5. Serve as a member of the team for students with behavioral concerns.
  6. Plan and oversee the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for students with autism and other disabilities.
  7. Lead professional development on behavior management, progress monitoring, data collection techniques, social skills or another targeted district needs.
  8. Engage in professional development to enhance personal professional knowledge and skills
  9. Conduct functional analysis and assessment of behavior for students with complex and/or severe behaviors in accordance with both Federal and State laws and regulations.
  10. Adhere to professional code of ethics as established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and Kentucky Applied Behavior Analyst Licensing Board (201 KAR 43:040).
