Job Description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT
Provide direct, specially designed instruction to 3 � 5 year old students with/without special needs. Collaborate with the ECEAP Special Education Teaching team. Will provide instruction for Transitional Kindergarten/ECEAP/SPED/Pay To Go/Head Start students in an inclusive classroom.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current (or obtained by start date) Washington State Teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s):
    • ECE Special Education or Special Education K-12; AND
    • ECE (P-3).
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully employ effective teaching methods.
  • Demonstrated desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Education and Experience 
Bachelor's degree with appropriate educational endorsement.
Must meet job specific highly qualified standards.

Licenses/Special Requirements
Must maintain all licenses and certifications as a condition of continued employment.
Valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement per OSPI.
Completed Bethel Employment Application/ Background Check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/CHARACTERISTICS

  • Demonstrate a knowledge in and application of Performance Learning/State Essential Learnings.
  • Successful experience working with preschool or elementary special education students.
  • Understanding of and success at implementing classroom behavior management programs for individual students and entire classes.
  • Proven ability to work successfully with regular education and special education staff in providing instruction, coordinating programs, resources and inclusion.
  • Successful experience creating and implementing curricular activities for special needs students.
  • Organizational ability and positive attitude needed to successfully manage student files, participate in MDT and coordinate IEPs.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of state regulations for special education, early childhood education, behavior management, developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Provides support to special education team by attending district meetings/child assessment team and inservices as a building representative.

District/Building Administrators as appropriate.
