Anticipated Work Year & Hours*: 260 Days (12- Month)
Union Membership: Proviso Custodial and Maintenance Union SEIU Local 73, CTW
Reports to: Custodial and Maintenance Building Lead; Director of Buildings and Grounds
Key Responsibilities:
Cafeteria & Kitchen Cleaning:
Clean and sanitize cafeteria floors, tables, chairs, counters, and food preparation areas daily.
Sweep, mop, and disinfect kitchen and dining area floors, including grease and spill removal.
Clean glass
Organize cafeteria equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
Empty trash cans and replace liners; ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen appliances and work surfaces.
General Facilities Support:
Assist with snow removal and ice management for entrances, walkways, and parking areas.
Set up and take down furniture, tables, and equipment for events, assemblies, or special activities.
Maintain common areas, hallways, and entrances in a clean and orderly condition.
Assist with organizing supplies and equipment as needed.
Enter school dude for building repairs
Daily Cleaning & Maintenance:
Ensure classrooms, hallways, offices, and other areas remain clean and free of hazards.
Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout assigned areas.
Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, moving furniture, and basic repairs.
Report any facility issues or safety hazards to the building's lead promptly.
Enter school dude for building repairs and closeout when complete
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the administration.*
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous custodial or facilities experience preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
Indoor work in kitchen, cafeteria, classrooms, offices, and other common areas.
Outdoor work for snow removal and event setups as required.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, waste, and general facility equipment.
Frequent physical activity, including lifting, bending, and floor care duties.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range:As set forth in the current agreement between the Board of Education of Proviso Township High Schools District 209, Cook County, Illinois, and Proviso Custodial and Maintenance Union SEIU Local 73, CTW, 2025-2030.

Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Proviso Township High Schools District 209 Board's policy on personnel evaluation.
