Job Details:

Applicants will be considered for openings in the harvest room department.  Tasks include processing live chickens to maintain a full production.  Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling and reaching are required in all areas. These positions work in a hot and humid environment.

Position Specific:

  • Successfully complete and understand the Animal Welfare training and follow Animal Welfare guidelines.

  • Stand approximately 18-20 inches from the conveyor

  • Use two hands, to grasp live chicken by the legs, taking care not to bruise the chicken or break any parts.

  • Lift the chicken and turn it upside down with the breast facing away

  • Must be able to hang at line speed

  • Wear all required safety equipment

  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor

  • Must be able to work around a minimum amount of dust and or ammonia from live birds

  • Must be able to perform other duties within the department as required

Compensation: $20.65/hr.

Hours: 2nd Shift

  • Accepting Rehires: Yes

  • 3 x Rule: If you have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times you are ineligible for rehire.

  • Rehire waiting period: 6 months or 180 days.
