Job Description
The Supply Technician Performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Work involves verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious
damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. Operates hand or power trucks. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with at least three years of recent and verifiable experience related to Supply Technician tasks and functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Union Accountabilities:
• Processing issues, receipts, restocking, warehousing, and shipping property
• Familiarity with standard storage and inventory procedures for supplies and equipment
• Understanding basics of handling and storage of hazardous materials
• Operating material handling equipment and government/company provided vehicles as required
• Complying with NASA contractual requirements, company policies and procedures, and CBA work rules
• Presenting a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
• Promoting teamwork and exceptional customer service
• Performing other duties as assigned
• Acknowledges possibility of requirement for infrequent travel -- both in CONUS and overseas.
Functional Accountabilities:
The Supply Technician is responsible for performance and/or coordination of the following logistical activities:
• Staffing customer service desk and processing requests for parts and materials
• Processing all customer service requests through NAMIS
• Researching for availability of parts and materials when such items are not available in inventory
• Generating "due-in" documentation for all parts and materials ordered from outside the warehouse in NAMIS
• Maintaining customer service area in a clean, organized, and safe manner
• Maintaining accuracy of inventory through audits, spot checks, and verifications
General Accountabilities :
The Supply Technician is responsible for:
• Performing company established employee tasks including, but not limited to, compliance with time keeping requirement
• Timely completion of all required corporate and customer training.
• Performance of other duties as assigned/required
• Compliance with the NASA JSC Expected Behaviors
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
• Must be able to work independently and stay on task with minimal supervision.
• Must possess experience in supply chain work and compliance regarding Government contracts.
• Must possess strong knowledge of safety, hazardous and environmental warnings.
• Must have customer service experience; routinely interact with external contacts, vendors, suppliers and team members.
• Must be trustworthy.
• Ability to identify potential hazards and mitigate them.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must have knowledge of supply data collection databases to include in administrative level entries.
• Must be an excellent communicator and have fair judgement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years’ experience of Supply Chain work in aircraft maintenance operations.
• Must be able to lift objects up to 50lbs.
• Must have current valid driver’s license and clean driving record and be qualified to operate a vehicle.
