Job Title: Junior Duty Manager
Location: Charterhouse - Godalming Surrey, GU7 2DX
Contract Type: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, 52 weeks per year.
Salary: Up to £37.500 per annum

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Junior Duty Manager to oversee the smooth delivery of service at Charterhouse School. Working closely with the catering and kitchen teams, you’ll ensure every customer enjoys a warm welcome, exceptional service, and high-quality food presentation. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who thrives in a busy hospitality environment and enjoys leading a team to deliver excellence.
You will be joining Holroyd Howe, one of the UK’s leading contract caterers, providing fresh, innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges. We are a team of experienced professionals who tailor our catering service provision specifically to suit children of all ages in order to meet the bespoke requirements of each school.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Duty Manager with the daily running of operations
- Supervise teams during service and ensure high standards are maintained
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues where needed
- Assist with shift coordination, briefings, and team support
- Maintain health & safety, hygiene, and operational standards
- Support stock control and basic operational administration
- Lead by example and contribute to a positive team environment
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or a supervisory role
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of food hygiene, health & safety standards
- Confident in supporting and motivating a team
- Customer-focused with a proactive, hands-on approach
- Flexible with working hours, including weekends and evenings where required
